A New Beginning
I am hoping with the election over we can all focus on positive work for our HOA. I was hoping the Blog would help us express concerns NOT attack one another. Let's all try to keep our discussions to issues and not personally attack one another. We should also share good ideas that can help our neighborhood. Try to repond with respect for one another. And best of luck to the new board, I admire your work, it is a job that I am glad you are doing for the community. Thanks for giving your time.

It about time for the trails to be "Groomed" isn't it? What would be wrong with homeowners doing their own trail maintenance in periods when the HOA hired operator is not scheduled?
ReplyDeleteWe groomed the trail next to our house. Some are REALLY bad with very high weeds. I hope it gets done soon.
ReplyDeleteWell today's vaccination clinic saved us $400. A welcome gift. Thanks to the Corral 50 and all who worked hard to make it a success. It looked like a great turn out.
ReplyDeleteTo Santa Rosa Ranchos and Gavilan Springs Homeowners: I was asked to post the following.
ReplyDeleteETI Corral 50 is pleased and excited to have donated volunteer labor time and weed control materials in order to "spruce up" the shared-use Equestrian
Center. As you know, we are a non-profit Equestrian Club that basically exists in order to provide equestrian-based activities for the whole Gavilan
Hills community. We have been busy preparing for our April 17th Vaccination Clinic and Community Equine Swap Meet, but had noticed that the whole arena area looked somewhat disheveled and not very pleasing in appearance, especially if we were to get outside visitors to this annual community event. We want to make a nice community impression! Because the weed control takes time to work, we wanted to make sure both associations knew that it is a work in progress, most especially so that the HOAs don't
duplicate our efforts. We have treated all the parkway edges, all of the parking lot, the former playground area, all around the arena, and around the mare motel. Later this week we will continue clean-up in the picnic area, and will see that the potentially dangerous gully running from the bathroom to the parking lot is filled in. We plan on having games for the kids, and did not want to run any risks concerning that area.
We are so thankful to have such a great facility to host these community events, and are proud of being able to give back as a "Thank You" to both associations for allowing us the use of the facility. We know that several years ago a weed control bid was over $1500 just to do the arena area, so we truly are excited to be able to provide this donation. As a side note, we
would like to especially thank ETI Corral 50 member Van Morris for donating his hours and hours of volunteer labor in bringing this project to fruition.
Great Job to the ETI 50 on the Shot clinic and neighborhood event. I saw lots of folks attending. It is great to bring people together. I know it is A LOT of work (having created the event) and I am so happy to see your group continue such a worthwhile cause.
ReplyDeleteI really didn’t think that I would have to do this with the new board, but, the circumstances warrant it: Before the present board was elected, I voiced an opinion on how the HOA Board Meetings should be handled and it was explained to me that the board follows the "Roberts Rules of Order" when conducting meetings.
ReplyDeleteWell, I attended the board meeting last Monday, along with a few other homeowners. We all waited to the end of the meeting, during the “New Business” time of the meeting to voice our concerns, as I it was explained that we should. I have to say that I was impressed on how this was handled at first, with the papers handed out for us to request the floor and voice our concerns. Then the tables turned and the board was pressed on the subject of getting multiple quotations for the equestrian trail maintenance contract and to my surprise the president and the “Management's” representative stood up and started folding up the table and chairs. I believe I don't have to look up “Robert’s Rules” for the order of meetings, to know that this was not the proper way to end a formal meeting. It was, also, very disrespectful to the homeowners present. This is yet more proof of what I said about the HOA Board’s arrogance when it comes to what they do without our approval. Please wake up and smell the roses!
I am bloggin to myself. WOW! The trail behind me sure looks good. Great job! Finally looks like my money is working to improve the community. Hope the other trails look this nice when they are done.
ReplyDeleteI believe it was Pat Brown and Tammy Winchell Hernandez they pushed for the rehiring of Van our tractor driver. I know that Tom Hintz agreed with Pat and Tammy as Julliete Brueggman. I also belive Laura was opposed to the Van and trails idea. When we had a newsletter, the board, which I was on at the time, Decided to post which board member approved or opposed an idea. I think this would be a good idea to get back to using.
ReplyDeleteWell, I was misinformed on some issues. Bonanza Backhoe is doing our trails and has not completed all of them yet. Look forward for more good stuff if we, the homeowners, go to the meetings and have our voices heard.
ReplyDeleteI see more of the trails are getting done. I was told as well that it is Bonanza doing the work. Looks like a BIG tractor doing the work, based on how clean they are turning out. I ride weekly so can see the difference.

ReplyDeleteYes, I heard the few times recently you've attended the meetings you are ragging on neighbors that you don't like the way they live, no curtains, bad landscape, cars etc. Try to focus ahead in life rather than keeping your head turned back and to the sides critisizng your neighbors, after all, you are not really anyone of importance just one of 92. It comes to mind when a person always is complaining about neighbors comes from someone with a bitter dried up spirit. Also, you weren't using our CC&R's so soften and be a good citizen. Everone doesn't want to be like you.
